With winter right around the corner, it’s time to schedule your furnace maintenance before the cooler weather comes! AC&R Services is here to provide you top of the line service and maintenance 24/7, and although we’re the experts its okay to be curious as to what we do when we service your HVAC. Here are the items on our annual heating inspection checklist:
Inspect and replace air filters. Replacing the filters provides the best air quality for your home, and helps the furnace run efficiently. Even after we change the filter, it’s important for you to check on it once-a-month to make sure it isn’t affecting your furnaces power.
Inspect and clean air ducts. Removing dirt, dander, dust and anything else that might get sucked into your duct work means an improved air flow and air quality throughout your home.
Check and adjust the fan switch. Adjusting the fan ensures the furnace moves air at the ideal velocity.
Lubricate the bearings. By reducing the friction, this benefits your furnace by letting it work as smoothly as possible and not wear it down over time.
Inspect and tighten fan belts. The potential of snapping belts can lead to some expensive repairs if they damage other pieces of the furnace. This quick inspection can save you down the road.
Remove and clean dust. By vacuuming out dust and debris from the unit and removing dirt from the burners you’ll be feeling the improved heat transfer as if it were brand new!
Check gas lines. A leaking gas line is extremely dangerous. Checking for leaks gives you peace of mind that your furnace will run safely all winter long.
