As one of the most successful residential, commercial and industrial HVAC contracting businesses in Northeast Pennsylvania, AC&R Services is proudly celebrating its 45th anniversary.
The company’s story began in 1979 when Dean Hilliard, current owner and company president, formed AC&R Services as a “service only” company, but a strong work ethic and determination to succeed propelled his business forward as it quickly grew into an installer of HVAC equipment. In 1981, the company became a Lennox dealer and remained so until the early 2000s. During this time, the firm was also a supplier of Carrier for an assortment of residential and commercial equipment. From 2005 until 2020, AC&R Services stood out as a Bryant dealer. They also began selling Mitsubishi around the same period and are presently a Diamond Elite dealer for Mitsubishi heating and air conditioning equipment.
Delivering quality, value and peace of mind to their customers is the company’s highest priority. In commenting on the milestone anniversary, Dean Hilliard stated, “We have survived all these years providing good service and expert installation of HVAC equipment. Also, we’ve never put ‘all our eggs in one basket,’ having worked on residential, commercial and industrial systems. The other important factor is our employees. A company is only as good as the people who work there. We treat our employees fairly and provide regular training on how to do the job in a professional manner.”
Today, the company carries all the required licenses, including local township or borough permits. Additionally, its technicians are certified through the Environmental Protection Agency in refrigerant recovery, recycling, and reclamation of refrigerants. They are also NATE certified. AC&R Services installs and services heat pumps, gas and oil furnaces and air conditioning systems in the latest energy efficient designs. Their heating and cooling experts offer newer home comfort methods including geothermal, radiant in-floor heat, split ductless heat pumps and air conditioning systems.
